I think the Dodgers performed worse than the Twins, even though the
Twins made more errors. Perhaps if the Twins hadn't made the errors,
they may have been victorious. The Dodgers were just plain outplayed by
the New York Mets.
Mauer and Hunter were the biggest disappointments for the Twins.
Neither produced offensively, and Hunter's error was really costly.
Penny, Maddux, Broxton, Drew, and Tomko were all disappointments,
especially the relief pitchers who were ultimately the reason for the
Dodgers' losses: Penny in Game 1, Tomko in Games 2 & 3, and Broxton
in Game 3. Maddux just didn't have a great performance in Game 3 to
shut down the Mets. Drew failed to hit, especially in key situations.
